The Past
Working at designing, making and improving products and processes to make them better has led to a wide perspective of how to combine mechanics and design to blend usefulness, practicality, quality and efficient local manufacturing (we make it) for a cost-effective, high-quality addition to your truck.
Many collective years working and engineering in the automotive parts industry led to an opportunity to produce a large truck exhaust part, which was the reason to start a metal fabrication business. Since 2011 we've made a number of products for the transportation industry, mostly made of stainless steel and some steel, using tube bending, tube hydroforming, shearing, cutting and finishing. There has been a lot of learning along the way, with plenty of challenges, like how to best use processes for efficient manufacturing, learning to work with stainless steel with its difficulties to make good quality products and meet customer requirements.
In 2020 the pandemic hit and everything stopped. Sales dropped to almost nothing and did not return to anywhere near what they were. New part projects for which we designed and made prototype tooling and parts didn't end up become production work, so these hard times didn’t have a relatively quick or timely way out.
Now
This also seemed a great opportunity to reach for the dream of making products of our own invention and design. Our words to live by are stated above:
