More about EZEStep
We are responsible for manufacturing all of the components and stand behind our product.
Our commitment to quality and durability starts with the design and materials. This includes thick, strong steel sections and a stainless steel step bar, fasteners and some parts of the support brackets. We use high quality powder coating, even on the some of the stainless steel components for colour and in case movement and use over years wears through the powder coating.
The Physical Factors
EZEStep makes getting into and down from the cargo box of your truck EZEer for everyone. Some people are agile enough to do this without any aid, but even for them EZEStep is just EZEer and better.
Height and Weight. When a person is shorter and/or heavier, the task of getting into the back of your truck gets more difficult.
Aches and Pains. Joint and muscle problems and pain can be a problem at any age, but also tend to increase as we get older. Agility and flexibility usually decrease and getting into the back also gets more difficult.
Safety
Most of us aren’t made to stretch that far. The safety risks include strain and stretching farther than your body (and clothes) is willing to when getting up and into the cargo box. Other risks occur when you get down. Its tempting to jump down, because its quick, but the impact can easily cause injuries.
Possible Injuries
- Your pride – feeling embarrassed by struggling, being unable or getting hurt is something you want to avoid. EZEStep is there for you, allowing you to make it look EZE, turning potential embarrassment into a smart move.
- Split/ripped pants
- Pulled/strained leg muscles, tendons or ligaments
- Knee or hip injuries
- Lower back injuries
- Sprained/twisted ankle
- Foot bruising
- Bone fracture
- Can become a fall, break/sprain/damage to your arm, wrist, hand, head and other injuries
The high impact force of jumping down increases your risk of injuring your lower back and legs. The force of landing can create intense shock or impact load on your spinal column, which can lead to increased bone-on-bone compression forces.
When any of these things happen, it doesn't make you eager to try that again. EZEStep greatly reduces or prevents all of these potential problems. Just step up and in or down with ease.
EZEStep provides the greatest range of:
Convenience – its solidly positioned where you need it, whenever you want it. no need to do anything to use it, just step up, even if one or both of your hands are full
Flexibility – step up anywhere you like along its 11 foot (3400 mm length) length, tailgate up or down, when you’re towing or not, hands full or in a hurry
Cost – the most cost effective with the widest range of flexibility
Existing Back Step Options
GM and Ford have steps that pull out of the tailgate (a reasonable price when buying one of these new trucks, but very expensive to add later – several $000) or indented steps at the ends of the bumper that are a better step height, but still are high for some people. The large majority of trucks have neither solution.
Aftermarket steps fit into the trailer hitch receiver, a retractable step that installs at one of the back corners (you must pick drivers or passengers side or buy 2) to pull down when you need it or even a ladder to pull out of the back and place against the tailgate.
