Our next product is a totally new approach to stopping auto theft. Vehicle theft is rising steadily and rapidly, which has led to lots of people and politicians run around saying ‘We've got to do something about this’, and yet.............
Governments and police have recently increased the amount of attention and focus on this, but it doesn't seem like there's really any significant advancements planned or coming. It's time to get serious about actually preventing car theft. OEM products in vehicles and those installed later by vehicle owners, added together have not been able to prevent the highest theft rate we've ever had in North America. The statistics are similar in Canada and the USA and is dramatically increasing.

We're really excited about this product because, as auto theft keeps increasing and vehicle owners feeling helpless, we have a solution. Guard Dog will give owners an effective tool to fight back. Nothing will protect your vehicle like a Guard Dog.
After having my truck stolen and later the same day, set on fire, it was time to rethink the whole situation with the goal of keeping your vehicle where you left it. Thinking from the point of view of the:
- Owner – What’s most effective first and foremost; Easy to Use; Good value
- Thief – Ease of entry and starting; Difficulty of breaking any protection; Quick getaway; Chance of getting caught.
- Police – How to respond quickly enough; How to apprehend the thief; How to ID the thief
The whole process was littered with other thoughts:
- Wanting to get even with thief
- Wishing I knew it was happening to call police or scare the thief away
- Feeling bad that I didn’t do more to prevent it
- Wishing to have a guard dog (a real, 4-legged one) in the vehicle to surprise/bite the thief
- Among other vengeful thoughts.
After considering hundreds (even thousands) of ideas and thoughts, what would become the Guard Dog you see, started to take shape. The name is partly due to #4 above, while also designing it to be like an ideal guard dog. Always on and vigilant, never tired or sleeping, ready to bite a thief, relentless protection, (doesn’t have to be fed, watered and walked!). We like the gritty symbolism and so the name is fitting in a number of ways.
Common to all current anti-theft devices is that they do one thing; different things from product to product, but 1/unit. It may do its job very well, but it's still does one thing. A 2nd thing that some of these have in common is a visual deterrent. When a thief learns how to bypass whatever the device is, that effect is lost and the primary defense quickly follows.
Guard Dog is the first and only theft prevention system. The number of physical aspects or layers or teeth as we like to call them of protection are many and the resulting complexity is a risk that thieves wouldn't want to take. An anti-theft system beats a device due to different types or layers of protection and accompanying complexity.
It's a mechanical lock better than anything you've seen before that ensures no one is driving away in your vehicle. It's profile resembles a dog's head and for many models the jaw opens to drive and closes to rest/wait safely for your return.
However there is much more protection that lies within the design. Guard Dog has many teeth, or layers of protection. More teeth and the complexity means a practically unbreakable barrier for a thief and increases their chances of being bitten (takes too long, cant break it, getting caught, IDed, Etc).
The benefit for the owner of a Guard Dog with many teeth is that your vehicle stays where you parked it. As its reputation grows among thieves, the deterrent effect, where they won't even try, will increase. This will also mean that damage from an unsuccessful attempt won't happen either. We know (from experience) that having insurance is good and helpful, but any attempt costs the owner money (deductible, at least), time and frustration. Guard Dog protects you in the most complete way possible.
We’ve done a lot of development work, with prototypes and trials over several years and patented the system.
When vehicle owners feel helpless, with some suffering multiple thefts and forced to pay more for insurance, always feeling vulnerable and threatened, having to be on guard and vigilant, we understand. Guard Dog is a way for owners to fight back and keep their vehicle.
The message to thieves is Don't Mess with My Guard Dog. You'll get bitten!
You can buy cheaper devices, but nothing else has the number of protection layers/teeth that Guard Dog has. Some are cheaper, but nothing provides better value. Guard Dog is the best investment you'll ever make to keep your car/SUV/truck where you left it.
